Personality:
Sumeragi Hokuto seems to be your usual 16-year old. With a sunshiny, happy-go-lucky attitude for life, she is always willing to give you a smile. But that's not all about her, being the older sister of the pair of twins, she has taken it up as her responsibility to raise her younger twin herself. She's the one who is always there for him, constantly reminding him to eat and rest, especially after he returns from his very stressful jobs.

One peculiar aspect of her personality is the fact that she's a fashion queen, though with a, we should call it, bit of an acquired taste. She designs all of hers and Subaru's clothing, usually making it match, and everything either of them wears on a usual day is not of the kind you'd find on any random shop !

Hokuto is one of the most awesome characters created by CLAMP (well, which of them isn't, ne ?), and she's not all happiness and fashion, that would make her infinetely shallow. But on the contrary, she has a big heart, and has shown it constantly in both, Tokyo Babylon, and her brief apperance in X (which could practically be considered a cameo). She cares deeply for her brother, to the point of giving her own life for him. She is willing to believe that the very man who killed her has something good inside him, and gives him the chance to be with her brother. And also, she tried to give some sunshine in the life of a sad, young boy, who had felt lonely for such a long time...

Brief History:
Sumeragi Hokuto was born on February 19, 1974 in Kyoto, as the twin sister of the future 13th Head of the Sumeragi Clan. Unfortunately for the twins, they were orphaned very soon in their young lives. Because of this, the twins were raised by their grandmother: Lady Sumeragi, 11th Head of the Sumeragi Clan, under her severly strict rules. As she wanted to prepare Subaru for his future position, she never showed any kind of love to either of them.

When they entered high-school, both of them moved to Tokyo, where they got their own appartment, away for the traditional life they led in Kyoto. She went to school with him, and the rest of the time, when he was at work, she prepared lunch or snacks for him, and of course, new outfits for them to wear.

Later, Subaru met again with Seishirou, and she became fast friends with him, due to her friendly nature and his charming style. And of course, they both shared the hobby of teasing poor Subaru and making him turn red. Always looking for her brother's happiness, she constantly played matchmaker, hoping someday Subaru would realize his deep feelings for this new acquaintance. However, she did leave it clear to Seishirou that, if he ever hurt her beloved brother, she would make him pay. (This while she was holding a knife in her hands).

Eventually, when Seishirou DID break Subaru's heart, she worried when he retreated within himself and went off to face the man by herself, even knowing she didn't have the power to defeat the Sakurazukamori. He ended her life single-handedly, and with her last power, she cast a spell upon him, to keep him from killing her brother in the same way as he killed her. Still, after all that, believing in him, she let him know what she did, to leave him the choice, and to let him follow to where his heart guided him. A Wish that was, sadly, never fulfilled...
